We are pleased to present you with a summary of what truly defines us as a company.  Gonzalez Legacy Studio is the result of a family tradition that spans more than 120 years of high-end woodworking being taught by one artisan to another, from generation to generation, thus making us one of the principal leaders in the fine custom woodworking industry.

Owner and founder, Fernando Gonzalez, a fifth generation master wood craftsman, has been perfecting his niche for over 45 years, since the age of 10. For the last 25 years, he has been solicited for his expertise and has handcrafted some of the most exclusive woodworking projects in Canada.

Fernando began his apprenticeship at an early age with his father Architect Rodolfo Gonzalez Bermudez, whom was also trained by his father. Having acquired extensive traditional woodworking skills training and experience, Fernando arrived to Canada from Mexico City in 2000. Since then, often being solicited for his woodworking expertise, he has continued his career of crafting wood interiors and cabinetry in high-end residences and businesses in western Canada. Insisting on quality and avoiding shortcuts at all costs, he has achieved many successes along the way and a long list of happy clients. Having trained with the best and handcrafted European furniture in its various styles for many years, Fernando is the natural choice for your boutique woodworking needs. His extensive background is the foundation of his company, ensuring a high-quality product and service. His professionalism and expertise at the forefront of each project guarantee client satisfaction.

Fernando says, "My passion for my work is what drives me. Proudly Mexican, my father taught me hands-on woodworking and I feel wonderful when I recall the times I have used the skills he taught me to work on a difficult job. Having been a craftsman has brought great satisfaction, especially when seeing clients' reactions. Woodwork is my life." Fernando adds: "What gives me the greatest satisfaction is the opportunity to share my knowledge with others. I have helped train several people in my craft."

INDUSTRY RECOGNITION

As part of his instruction, Fernando was invited to participate in notable projects in Mexico City, France, New York City, Vancouver, California, and Toronto, wherein his design vision was refined. He traveled to European cities such as London, Berlin, and Rome. These trips broadened his scope of training, made vast his knowledge of fine furniture design, and developed in him a taste for art along with a desire to pursue perfection in every project. He had the opportunity to meet interior design professionals. He is the recipient of the following:
